Sunny Wales!!! After a busy week at the Works Lu and I headed down to Wales for the weekend. The Gogarth Fest had been organised by Adam Wainwright to celebrate the lifting of the bird bans at Gogarth. The weather on Saturday was terrible on Anglesey and just as bad in the pass so we stopped off at Paracellas cave for a full workout. Then we headed into Llanberis where Sue ( ex DMM rep ) has taken over the Snowdon pub with her partner Ted. There was some nice free food, a band and lots of real ale. After a very lasy start and a big breakfast we headed over to Gorgarth to join all the action. The weather was looking good so we abseiled in to Red wall wall to do a classic E1 called Anarchist. I had led about half of the 1st pitch when the heavens opened. The final crack turned into a small waterfall and rather than taking the lob onto far from good gear i opted for a quick top rope from well positioned photographer Alex messanger. I set up a quick belay and shouted down to a very wet Lucinda 'Climb when ready' she quested up the now soaking E1 to the thankful large belay ledge. Alex (the Hero ) dumared the last easy pitch and Lu and I followed with comfort of a nice rope from above! Check out Alex's photo on UKclimbing http://www.ukclimbing.com/images/dbpage.html?id=71306. Anyway as they say its all about the experiance! Thanks again to Alex for all is help.
